Postcard from USA - 03 - Utah (UT)

Utah memang adalah salah satu state yang aku nak pegi. Dan aku sempat pegi 2 kali.

Kunjungan pertama masa drive dari Colorado dalam road trip ni. Aku bersama sama sorang lagi kawan sejantina dan 2 jelitawan meredah perjalanan hampir 2 minggu time cuti summer tu. Area coverage adalah West & West Coast USA.

Lepas pada Aspen CO yang kaya dengan pokok pokok pines dan kawasan pergunungan, tiba tiba sampai ke kawasan tandus, kering dan berpadang kontang.

Tapi itu lah sebenarnya keistimewaan Utah.

Utah bermaksud 'people of mountains' daripada bahasa kaum Asli di sana.

Kena pegi kat pekan nama dia Moab. Pekan dia koboi jer

Selain tu ada satu lagi ikon popular di Utah iaitu Rainbow Bridge di Rainbow Bridge National Park tapi aku tak sempat pegi.

Aku syorkan sesapa ke Utah, boleh pilih antara satu kalau tak banyak masa. Arches National Park tu dah OK.

Masa kat Utah ni jugak, kami hampir hampir accident. Member aku bawak kereta, dia pegi panjat atas batu sebab nak elak kereta lain.

Nasib baik tak de apa apa. Kus semangat 46.

Kami spent masa di Arches National Park di Moab dan bergerak menuju ke Monument Valley yang turut sama menjadi icon famous di Utah ini.

Bongkah bongkah batu besar di kawasan yang tandus

Kenangan berguling guling atas jalan ambik gambar. Highway ni part of National Historic Route 66. 

Pastu bila dah malam jalan ni gelap gila. Dengan cahaya bulan nampak bongkah bongkah batu tu  agak menyeramkan.

Dari Utah, aku bergerak ke Flagstaff, Arizona.

Bandar terbesar di Utah adalah Salt Lake City dan aku pernah sampai kat bandar dia masa separate trip ke Yellowstone NP. Area sejuk sejuk sikit and the city is famous for ski resorts dan pernah menjadi tuan rumah Sukan Olympic Musim Sejuk pada tahun 2002.

Franchise KFC pertama di dunia telah di buka di Salt Lake City ni.

Tapi Salt Lake City tak de apa sangat so boleh skip !
