NZ 2017 02 : Hooker Valley | Mount Cook | Lake Ruataniwha

HOOKER VALLEY

Trip 2016 penuh kenangan mencabar untuk menjejaki hooker valley ni.

Ribut melanda

Iceberg

One of the most popular walks in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park. Pass through Hooker Valley and walk beside the Hooker River.

Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park is a rugged land of ice and rock. Walking one of the tracks is the best way to experience this ancient landscape.

The track leads up the Hooker Valley and along the Hooker River, ending at the glacier lake, where there are amazing views of Aoraki/Mount Cook on a clear day. Along the way you will cross three swingbridges and encounter picturesque icebergs, glaciers and majestic mountains that will have you reaching for your camera at every turn.

Dan tahun 2017, laluannya dipermudahkan. View pun lebih kurang sama.

Cuaca tetap mendung tapi tiada ribut. View teta awesome. Pondok tempat aku berteduh dulu tu pun dah tak de. Tinggal jamban dan tong tahik saja.

MOUNT COOK

Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is home of the highest mountains and the longest glaciers. It is alpine in the purest sense - with skyscraping peaks, glaciers and permanent snow fields, all set under a star-studded sky.

According to Ngai Tahu legend, Aoraki and his three brothers were the sons of Rakinui, the Sky Father. While on a sea voyage, their canoe overturned on a reef. When the brothers climbed on top of their canoe, the freezing south wind turned them to stone. The canoe became the South Island (Te Waka o Aoraki); Aoraki and his brothers became the peaks of the Southern Alps

Tahun 2016 view di kawasan ni memang mengancam.

Dan tahun 2017, view dia tetap mempesonakan !

LAKE RUATANIWHA

Lake Ruataniwha is located in the Mackenzie Basin in New Zealand's South Island. An artificial lake, it was formed as part of the Waitaki hydroelectric project. It lies on the traditional boundary of the Canterbury and Otago provinces with the town of Twizel two kilometres to the north.

The lake is named after Ruataniwha Station, a large sheep station in the area, part of which was purchased by the NZ Electricity Department as the site for the township of Twizel. Ruataniwha was a Maori chief who was drowned when the canoe Arai-te-uru sank near Moeraki in the 12th century.

It was one of the filming locations of the Zombie movie Last of the Living.

View 2016.

Dan tahun 2017 sebab dah abis musim sejuk, pergunungan kurang bersalji. View kurang sikit time ni.

Tenang, damai dan mengasyikkan. Aci singgah !

bersambung.............
